Beach Picture and Frame

Beach Sand Art

Materials:

Small amount of white craft sand

Small amount of blue craft sand

Small craft shells

Glue

Picture Frame

Piece of craft foam in any color (I used black to have more of a night-time or evening effect)

Large shells to decorate the frame

VERY IMPORTANT: Don't forget to leave about 1 inch of your foam uncovered and decorated so that the picture you make will fit into a frame!

Note: You can use several types of picture frames. This project is also great for those frames that are missing glass from one previous accident or another.

Note: If small children are doing this craft, consider using frames without glass or using frames whose glass is plastic to avoid any accidents.

Cut the craft foam to fit the frame you are using.

Spread glue thinly over half of the craft foam. Use your fingers or a popsicle stick to get rid of excess.

Sprinkle white sand onto the glued area. Spread around with your fingers.

Spread glue on the top half of the craft foam. Make sure to remove any excess of glue as before.

Sprinkle blue sand over the glued area. Spread around with your fingers.

Glue small shells in any pattern you wish, scattering them around the beach.

Make a sun from the small shells to shine down on the beach.

Let everything dry completely.

Once dry, place your picture into a picture frame of your choice.

Hang on the wall or give as a gift.
