Baker's Clay

This clay is excellent for small figurines and simple sculpting. It is not suited for a great amount of detail and should not be air dried. It does require baking in order to dry without problems. It does not store well, so it should be used and baked the same day it is made.

This recipe makes quite a bit. You can adjust it for smaller amounts.

1 cup salt

3 cups flour

About 1 1/2 cup water

Mix together until a slightly sticky dough forms. Knead dough until smooth.

Bake for about 12-15 minutes at 300-325 degrees.

To mold this clay, you can use cookie cutters or just form the dough into shapes yourself. I like to form my designs myself as I have more control over what the finished project looks like.
