Pumpkin Treat Bags
These adorable bags are easy to make and great to give out on Halloween.
Materials:
1/2 sheet of plain orange cardstock
1/2 sheet patterned cardstock
Brown or black cardstock scraps
1 black pompom
Googly eyes
2 pieces of green curling ribbon, both 7 inches long
How To Make:
From the plain orange cardstock, cut out one strip 1 1/2 inches by 7 inches. Fold the long edges of this strip 1/4 inch on both sides. At one inch intervals, cut a small triangle out of the folded edge. This will let the cardstock bend later.
From the patterned cardstock, cut two identical pumpkin shapes. This is easiest done by folding the paper and cutting both at the same time. Your pumpkin shapes should be 3 3/4 inches by 3 inches.
Cut a stem from the brown or black cardstock scraps.
Cut a mouth for your pumpkin bag from the black or brown cardstock scraps.
Glue one side of the long strip of orange cardstock to the back of one of the pumpkin shapes. Make sure you press firmly and bend at the notches made earlier.
On the other pumpkin shape, glue the stem to the back of the pumpkin at the top center of the pumpkin.
On the right side of the pumpkin shape with the stem, glue the pompom on for the nose.
Glue on the googly eyes and mouth shape you cut our earlier.
Let the glue dry for a while before continuing.
Glue the pumpkin shape onto the second fold of the long strip attached to the back of your pumpkin bag. Make sure to press firmly so that the bag stays together.
Glue one end of one of the pieces of green ribbon to of bag at the sides. The ribbon should be placed inside the bag and not on the outside.
Glue the other ribbon to the back of the stem in the middle.
Allow glue to dry completely before finishing this project.
Use scissors to curl the ribbon around the stem to create a "vine".
Fill your bag with candy or other treats. If using these bags for trick or treaters, please fill with prepacked candy in their original wrappers.
